Yeeaeaaahhh!!!!
Go try by yourself, it's a very intuitive 3d package, very easy to learn
The demo version is fully usable for 40 days, you'll just have to fill this page:
[link]I started to use it with very very few knowledge in 3d, and did a comic book (published) without ever reading no tutorial, taking lesson and so on; just by "look for what i wanna do and try it". (well it was 7 years ago, so the software was a bit more simple, but the ergonomics is the same )
The software is so ergonomic, that for someone who comes from adobe's app, it can be used with fun, almost all by yourself.
Afaic, found it so pleasant to use I went "full 3d" since I started
As for this new release, for animators, characters animators in particular, they are many enhancements that really helps animating and that where lacking in previous version. New pose morphers, and you can now rigg X-refs, so you can have someone working on the modeling, while someone else at the same time start working on the rigg, and update the model without loosing everything.
You can also imagine having some "biped style" rigg and easyly adapt it to any completed character, very cool.
Some of thoose new tools are also very very usefull for the modeling process. I 'm talking about new "deformers" that are so dam' good !
Well, many many new features that are awesome.
A last one I'd really felt in love with is the new "turtle programming" tool. Some of you, from 70's, might have had occasion on playing with "logo" language and turtle commands while you were kids. For those who sucks like me in programming, this language is just like the rest of c4d: absolutely easy to understand and to learn, more creation oriented.
The concept is to move a cursor in space (the turtle), like "move forward one time, turn 90°, move backward 5 times" and so on. (wich would be F=1 R=90 -F=5 /// it's an example to show how simple the language is, hun

)
With some more advanced formulas (can steal some on the web) you can draw some very cool stuffs. Hours of fun for abstract animation motion graphics, as well as, for those like me, who wanna re-create some organics patterns; might also be fun to use to draw very cool Arabesque designs too...
well, i'm very excited about this last release. Waiting for my box, while playing with the demo in the meantime....
So, I'll be back !
