Artist's Comments

The Urban Sanctuary. Lost in the urban confusion, this secret place is my peacefull rest.

Inspired by Tokyo city and started for a comic book in 2002, this scene went an obsession for me, so each spare time i got i tryed to improve it.
Completed in 2005.

Technically, concept from pencills. Started modelisation in Amapi 1 something (near 2001/2 i think), and continued mod, texturing and lighting with Maxon Cinema4d, version 7, 8.5 then completed in r9.6.
Render in AR raytrace at 8000px.
Some minor work with Pshop.

This is absolutely fantastic. Not only is it amazing to look at but it has so much meaning. Having a sanctuary in the chaos of life is something we all look for, and this visualizes it so well. Congratulations!

This is awesome! I wish I could work on such a large scale sometimes, even with pre-made stuff. Modeling from scratch would scare the hell outta me LoL
