Omg! this is brutal.. it looks so real! you must have had a pretty high poly-count with all those skulls,, do you have a super computor or did you use some special trick to handle all skulls?

Yeah many softwares are now using rendering proxies. The idea is to load only once the model in Ram. Here it was Vray Proxy. Cinema4d handle them natively since r12. Without proxies, ram usage would be pretty monstrous indeed !
Anyhow I plan on buying more Ram. "Only" 12 on this machine. Planing on jump up to 24 as soon as I'll get enough money !

yeah,, its nice to have a lot of ram,, I have 8 and sometimes I run out of ram, especially in Zbrush when Im working with too large polycount!
So if I got it right, you doesent have all those skulls in "reality", you just have one skull and, every other skull relate to this one, and the geometry is only built up when you render? but can you see all skulls in cinema 4d interface? and it looks like the skulls interact with each other, like they have physics or something :P

Yup you gat it all correct. You do can see geometry in viewport, but again, you'll make proxies for proxies for viewport! :p
Here, a 16 poly sphere replaces the skull to do the "bullet time" physics simulation of skulls in the ground + tracks of the tank. It is only activated for sim and viewport, so when you render, the instance uses the rendering proxy.
